Let’s face it,  rather you went to Apalachicola yourself, reached into the water, plucked out an oyster, shucked it and slammed it with some Louisiana and a cracker or bought it from a local market or your particular  favorite seafood restaurant it is still an Aplach oyster.  Right?  So how can somebody say one spot has “better” oysters than another?  They all came from the same bay.  They’re all packed in ice.  So why is it when you ask any local, “where do I go from some good oysters?”, the response you’ll hear 99% of the time is Hunt’s. 

The answer is simple.  Hunt’s is a true southern oyster bar and seafood restaurant.  The shuckers remember your name.  The staff is always friendly with a “Hey you’re in Florida , sittin at an oyster bar with a cold beer, so chill out, relax, and don’t take yourself so seriously attitude.  You gotta love it. 

So if you want a TRUE Florida Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant experience and NOT what somebody thinks a tourist would expect to experience with “Cheeseburger In Paradise” repeatedly blaring on the piped in muzack system 4 dollar drafts and $9.95 for a dozen (exactly 12, not one more), pre-shucked and sitting in the cooler since who knows when oysters then get to Hunt’s. 

Hunt’s is where the locals go.  We live here and have had year after year after year to figure out where to find great seafood in Panama City’s best Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant.  And that place is Hunt’s, and that’s all I got to say about that.
